What we leave behind in our time will remain a legacy that will hound us or bless us in the near future. As Christian Youths we need to be creative such that the world will receive our gospel. Creativity is core to our constitution as humans. In the image of God, we were created (Gen1:26). The image of God involves creativity, as we were created to create. We are intended to develop a culture of initiative, we as the young people to become the authors and actors in our countries as well as boosting our creativity, audacity and talent in local and international business environment. Having an International Conference as a church is the gateway to globalization. This brings cohesion, citizenship and solidarity, sustainable development and entrepreneurialism among the youth of our generation. This builds a creative ability within the youth, innovative thinking and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities, setting and achieving goals with limited resources, for example in Zimbabwe. There are three things that I had put down that can help us to climb the ladder of success without violating our Christian virtues;
1. Creative mind - Keep thinking
Do some creative things in your free time. If you are good in Art, do it! Feel that the day cannot be spend without doing something or thinking about some new things in your life. Within us, there are many new glorious materials that are hidden with us. Be your own explorer. Sometime you don’t know it that you are a great man. Men like Gideon, Prophet Jeremiah among others didn’t know that they were great until God revealed it to them. Ephesians 2:10 put it this way; “For we are his workmanship,....” 1 Kings 3:12 “Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.” No-one is coming to manifest on our behalf. We are here to show the world that we are the children of God. First Timothy 4:14-15 “Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.” Let us start our own businesses. Whether small but the Vision will soon grow into greatness. All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. (Thomas Edward Lawrence (1885-1932).
2. Association - Godly association
f you fully enter into a true Spirit-filled life, fully-surrendered walk with the Lord, where God is now leading your life in the direction that He will want it to go, one of the first things that you will find happening is that God will start to prune out the people that He does not want in your life and start to bring in the people that He does want in your life. 1Cor 15:33, the bible once said Bad company corrupts good behavior. Though Paul was preaching against heretical theology, that there is no resurrection of the dead, In business, one had to be in association with the people that share same faith with you. Share same vision! If it is a company know that all the directors must show same vision.
If you want to be a Global Spiritual Leader in this 21st Century, learn to pray always (1 Thess5:17). Prayer is the antidote to failure. Prayer simply means talking to God. However you can also understand that Prayer is an act of humility, which is putting God first in everything that we do. Total surrender to God! I love that. Psalm 37:4 (NIV) “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart”. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
There is no doubt that every one of us has special skill and abilities and it is up to us to utilize them. What do you believe is your creative skill or ability? In what ways do therefore utilize them, at work, at home or in the church. Each day, I try to be an example of God’s light and love to the world, and I pray that these words encourage you in your entrepreneurial journey. Continue to trust in God’s wisdom as we seek to work hard as children of God.
Teaming up with my father for a weekend of ministry in #Kyiv... He's just arrived by overnight train from Moscow after six weeks of daily preaching across Russia. A few mornings ago I got the following text from him, when he was in Moscow, at 6:14 AM: "Dear Johan, I woke up 24 hours ago, and ministered for 17 hours. Arrived at apartment 20 minutes ago. Going to sleep now." I've been reading from the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible the last couple of days, about the missionary journeys of Apostle Paul. I'm so very thankful for this grace to have somebody in my life like my parents, who can truly say as Paul said, "Follow me as I follow Christ Jesus." @AFMIYouth 👈🏾👈🏻, prepare to be blessed mightily on 6-9 April, at Rufaro for the AFM International Youth Conference, where Pastor Leon du Toit is also invited to pray for those in need and encourage the next generation to #KEEPTHEFIREBURNING!
Right from the beginning of the modern-day Pentecostal movement, the name Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) was synonymous with "Pentecostal". When the first Pentecostal missionaries came from America, they brought the name with them. Although the name fell into disrepute in America, the AFM in South Africa retained the name.
By "Apostolic Faith" the early pioneers wanted to incorporate the apostolate idea in the name of the movement. This implies a "New Testament" church, a church like in the Book of Acts, a church as it was in the days of the apostles. In doctrine and in life itself, they strived to be a continuation of the church in Acts. The addition of "Mission" links up with the apostolate idea. Just as the early church was a church of action, an outgoing church, a church for the nations, a mission-minded church, they wanted to be the same. The name "Apostolic Faith Mission" does not only make theological sense, it displays our true DNA.
